In Case of Inclement Weather

A picture of the library's home page featuring the alert bar.

It seems as if Winter isn't done with us yet. Keep reading for all the information you need to know for what's happening at the library.

How do I know if you're closing, delayed, etc.?

There are three different ways you stay informed about what's happening due to inclement weather.

  1. Check WFMZ Storm Center. We always update Storm Center first when we're experiencing any change in our regular scheduled hours.
  2. Check our social media, specifically Facebook or Instagram. Our socials are updated next.
  3. You can also check our website! When there is special news or inclement weather, I always update the alert bar.

What's the alert bar?

Great question! The alert bar is a golden-colored bar the runs across the top of every page on our site when it's turned on. In the alert bar you can find updates on hours due to inclement weather and other important information. For everyone's sake I always make sure weather updates are dated to avoid possible confusion. In the case of inclement weather, the alert bar will look something like the featured picture of this article.

What other kinds of information might be there?

Well, since we have a regular library Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for this Thursday, February 13th, we're going to add the Zoom information for the meeting to the alert bar in case of closure. I'll also post the Zoom information below, but in the alert bar we can often reach more of our community members.
