Kenzaburō Ōe, the winner of the 1994 Nobel Prize for Literature, is internationally acclaimed as one of the most important and influential post-World War II writers, known for his powerful accounts of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and his own struggle to come to terms with a mentally handicapped son. The Swedish Academy lauded Ōe for his "poetic force [that] creates an imagined world where life and myth condense to form a disconcerting picture of the human predicament today."

Join Janice Monahan Rodgers as she discusses her books Letters to my Sister and Letters to my Sister Volume 2: Chew Street and Beyond.
They are both comprised of short stories about the postwar years of the 1940’s and 50’s growing up in Allentown. They chronicle family vacations, adventures in the Chew Street neighborhood and her family’s big move to the ‘suburbs’ in a nostalgic, funny and sentimental fashion.

Battle through five rounds of non-stop board games to win the most points and survive the ultimate face-off.
Each team will have 10 minutes to compete against other teams to earn as many points as possible in that round. Each team will get a chance to play each of the following games: Bananagrams, Taboo, Scattergories, Trivial Pursuit, and 5-Secound Rule. The two teams with the most points will face off in a game of Jenga to be crowned the winners. There are prizes for the winning team and snacks are provided.
Learn about music therapy and how music can help improve overall health and wellness! Through drumming, instrument playing, singing, songwriting and moving to music, the entire family will gain firsthand experience of the benefits of music therapy, including strategies to help decrease pain, anxiety, depression and grief.
