Hygge (pronounced "hoo-gah") is a Danish concept of happiness through all things cozy and comfy. Take a break from your hectic life to enjoy the simple things. Join us for a relaxing evening of warm beverages, snacks, coloring, word games or bring your own activity such as a small craft or your current read.

Book Discussion - The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

A. J. Fikry's life is not at all what he expected it to be. His wife has died; his bookstore is experiencing the worst sales in its history; and now his prized possession, a rare collection of Poe poems, has been stolen. Slowly but surely, he is isolating himself from all the people of Alice Island—from Chief Lambiase, the well-intentioned police officer who's always felt kindly toward him; from Ismay, his sister-in-law, who is hell-bent on saving A.J.

Join Ned Bloom, Volunteer Services Senior Specialist, for an introduction to the Red Cross, including their history and services. Also learn about the free smoke alarm installation program SOUND THE ALARM! and what people need to do now to be better prepared at home. Learn how to become Red Cross Ready! Opportunities to get involved, as a volunteer will also be discussed.
