BOARD OF TRUSTEES MINUTES October 15, 2008
Attending: Dorothy Ambrosino, Mary Beller, Allen Collins, Sue Donges, Lisa Maderic, Judy Odenwelder, Jane Yagerhofer
Absent: Bob Koch
Guest: Jack Sullivan
Jack gave us on update on our investments and discussed the financial situation.
Motion to take 50% of the value of the equity funds and move it into cash: Dorothy; 2nd: Lisa. 6 yeas, 0 nays
Old Business:
Motion to approve last month minutes: Lisa; 2nd: Sue. 5 yeas, 0 nays, 1 abstain
The minutes from The Friends were distributed.
The financial report was distributed.
Librarian’s report: Apparently our wireless connection had such a broad range that students could access it from the school. The range was changed so that this would not happen.
Paperwork for a DECD grant from Julie Harhart is being prepared. The plan is to purchase new computers with the money.
A grant is being applied for to replace the front doors and make them handicapped accessible. The cost would be approximately $8,000.
Circulation is up compared to the same period last year.
Children’s programs will start next week. Other programs available are: Computer program for adults A Civil War discussion group Tutoring A book discussion group
Mark you calendars for the Trustee and Friends Institute to be held April 24-25, 2009.
The library auction is ready to go for Friday, October 17, 2008.
Mary and Judy will be meeting with Julie Harhart on Oct. 21, 2008 to discuss ideas for getting more funding for the library.
We previewed the first draft of the annual mailing and made suggestions.
